Somatic Tea Party values openness: to new ideas, to new members of a group or place, of borders, and of our desires and emotions. We believe in principles over process, in the liminal over the taxonomic, and in emergent and equitable systems over hierarchy and rigid control. We uphold a fundamental commitment to the deeper meaning of nonviolence, which includes not just avoidance of physical harm but an abdication of all means of coercion and a respect for the consent and autonomy of all persons.

Our mission is to build community resilience through events, services, and publications that: help communities create authentic connection and trust; increase emotional resilience and tolerance of closer community through embodiment work; and teach creative unblocking to help make the arts accessible to all.
